The Delta Community Fire Department’s Main Station no longer meets the needs of the growing Department. The existing facility was designed for an all-volunteer force and is ill-equipped to handle the Department’s current needs and anticipated growth. As a result, the Fire Department, in a partnership with the York Township Trustees, studied the relocation of the fire operations to the existing Township Hall and EMS facility site. While the Department knew which site the proposed station would be located on, the feasibility study worked through 3 different scenarios exploring ways to integrate the Fire Station into the site while maintaining the existing EMS / Township Hall structure.

The resulting design includes utilizing the existing 2,944 square foot facility for administrative spaces for the Fire Department and Township functions while adding living spaces to support the Department’s current and future staffing needs. The design includes a 17,277 square foot station with 5 drive-through apparatus bays and ancillary spaces to support both fire and EMS services.
